What are Thespian Tricks?
Thespian Tricks are special character poses designed to add variety and personality to your Photo Mode creations. Prior to Version 4.7, players were limited to three generic poses: Alpha Pose, Standby, and Thinking Pose. With Thespian Tricks, you can unlock unique poses for specific characters, allowing for more dynamic and expressive photos.
New Poses for Specific Characters
According to leaks from testing servers, shared by spletnik_fatui, Version 4.8 will introduce new Thespian Tricks for four characters:
- Yoimiya
- Yelan
- Kaeya
- Kaveh

It’s interesting to see Kaveh getting a Thespian Trick, considering his absence from recent Event Banners. This could be a subtle hint towards his arrival alongside Nilou and Navia in the first half of Version 4.8, but miHoYo hasn’t confirmed anything yet. For reference, Wriothesley, a special guest star in the Imaginarium Theater, won’t be getting a rerun until Version 5.0 at the earliest.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to collect all Thespian Tricks in a single patch. Version 4.7 offered six Thespian Tricks, but the currency needed for exchange is limited to three per patch. This means players need to prioritize which poses they want based on the characters they have.
There is a small chance that HoYoverse might adjust this system, allowing players to exchange currency for older Thespian Tricks in Version 4.8 and beyond. Until then, players should plan accordingly and focus on obtaining the poses that best suit their current roster.
